| The Event:
|
The Lomond
Challenge is based at Firkin Point on the west side of Loch
Lomond. It consists of a 1.7 miles Canadian Canoe
leg set on Loch Lomond, a 1.7 miles Cycling and a
3.4 miles Run |
| Teams:
|
Competitors should be
pupils in
Scottish School in the years S4, S5 or S6 (2009/10) and the event
must be contested in teams of two. These teams may be all male,
all female or of mixed composition. |
| Equipment:
|
All equipment will be provided including Canadian canoes,
bicycles, and safety gear. |
| Safety:
|
The event will be marshalled throughout by experienced and
qualified adults. |
| Cost:
|
An entry fee of £20 per
team is required with the entry form. |
| Further

A programme giving full
details of routes, rules, timings, training and equipment will
be provided in good time for the event. |

| Location
|
Firkin Point is a 40
minute drive from Glasgow. A bus will take competitors there
from Lomond School, Helensburgh. |
| Prizes: |
Prizes are awarded for
each stage as well as overall winner and will be given for male,
female and mixed teams plus a Team Prize. The Team Prize is for
the top three finishing teams in any school.

| Experience: |
It is
desirable but not essential to have had some experience of the
individual events and in their own interests entrants should be
fit and able to complete a competitive and physical challenge.
They must be able to swim a minimum distance of 300 meters. |
